Whittier Welcomes Special Olympics Athletes

One of the many reasons the LaRoche Team loves having one of their three offices located in the heart of Uptown Whittier is the sense of community and family. There was an abundance of both yesterday as the city of Whittier welcomed athletes from Macau, China that will compete in the 2015 Special Olympics. While the actual events will take place this weekend in Los Angeles, athletes from around the world are able to visit with their host cities this week.

Host cities all over Southern California, including Whittier, are providing lodging, meals, training facilities and entertainment for athletes and coaches.

Community members created posters and gathered to cheer on the athletes as they paraded down Penn Street towards Whittier City Hall. The event was flooded with a sense of community and love.

A few members of the LaRoche Team were actually able to make time to join in the welcome and celebration of the athletes from Macau, China. They enjoyed being an active part of the community and supporting the Special Olympics.IMG_0017

The LaRoche Team is committed to making sure that everyone believes that they matter, and the Special Olympics is a great event to support that empowers everyone.

The entire LaRoche Team wants to thank all the volunteers and say “good luck” to all the amazing athletes that will compete in the 2015 Special Olympics this weekend.
